Our Mission is to Help Grow Relationships between Landowners and Farmers

Over the next 10 years, 20-30% of farmland is expected to change hands in the United States.

The demand for rental farmland remains very strong.  Managing your farmland investment is not hard.  You can achieve a solid financial return while at the same time building long-term relationships  (and friendships!) with local farmers.

If you’re a farmland owner looking to gain exposure to tools and strategies to increase your return on investment, you’re in the right place.

If your a landowner with a farm for rent, you’re in the right place. (check out our farmer database: http://www.rentthefarm.com/farmer-database)

If you’re a farmer who is looking to connect with landowners across the country, you’re in the right place.

If you have a farm for rent, please let us know as RentTheFarm is now offering FREE farm management consulting to both landowners and farmers.  E-mail us at nick@rentthefarm.com with any and all questions about your situation.  (as an example, we recently had a thorough discussion with a landowner regarding whether or not a 50/50 share crop was appropriate for their situation)

RentTheFarm.com was founded by Nick Horob.  Due to a serious injury to his father in 1998, he was forced as a teenager to learn about best practices in managing his family’s farmland in Western North Dakota.  It’s been his mission to provide landowners, new landowners or decision makers in particular, with a reputable source of farm management information to help them successfully manage their farmland assets.

In addition to founding RentTheFarm, Nick is currently a risk management consultant with Market Wise Ag Services (www.MeetMarketWise.com).  He works one-on-one with producers across the Upper Midwest focusing on helping farmers achieve high risk-adjusted returns on their farms through cost of production analysis, profit-focused cash sale/hedging recommendations, and crop insurance advisory.  Nick is currently based in Moorhead, MN.

Prior to Market Wise, Nick worked for Shoreview Industries, a $600 million private equity firm located in Minneapolis, MN.  While at ShoreView he sat on the Board of Managers of Renegade/Kibbi, a manufacturer of high-end race car haulers.  Nick attended North Dakota State University and graduated from the University of Minnesota.
